Very happy with my purchase of Merit’s limited edition signature lipstick in Aperatif, a true red that they claim looks good on everyone. And I gotta say - it does look good in everyone I’ve seen so far.
Red is my least favorite color on me, so finding a red that I feel confident in is pretty tricky. I personally prefer brighter reds on my skin tone and Aperatif is surprisingly bright.
The formula has a translucency so you can see your natural lip underneath unless you build it up. For that reason, I do prefer to wear the merit lipsticks at full opacity, I find that the sheerness isn’t necessarily flattering, but at two coats it looks great and feels more creamy.
I’ve seen so much buzz around this shade, I really hope they make it permanent so when I use it on camera people won’t be mad at me for wearing a discontinued product 😅
