The Mercedes AMG GT-S was born to fill the boots of the iconic SLS and the SLS was a car that earned its supercar status very quickly. It’s been able to retain its reputation incredibly well as one of the brand’s most enjoyable cars to own for a number of reasons, and as such, they still demand a considerable price tag.
Nonetheless, the AMG GT-S though is a proper, thoroughbred GT car. Even though it sits amongst a range of varied siblings – the GT, GT-C, GT-R & GT-R Pro – they’re all destined for different owners and offer different things. The ‘S’ retains the perfect balance of comfort, good looks and driving enjoyment that you’d expect from this type of car, executed in true Mercedes fashion.
So then, we are very pleased to present to you this 2020 (70) Mercedes AMG GT-S 4.0 Twin Turbo V8 Premium, which has covered just 4,200 miles, benefits from just two owners from new and is covered under the Mercedes manufacturer warranty until September 2023.
The overall aesthetic for this GT-S is a stealthy one and it looks fantastic. The bodywork is finished in the sleek Magnetite Black, and this colour really accentuates the car’s dynamic silhouette. It sits on Black 10-spoke 19” front and 20” rear alloy wheels which come as standard on the GT-S and combined with the paint, give it a very classy aesthetic.
Inside, the car benefits from Black Nappa leather throughout and the optional AMG High Gloss Black interior package. On top of this, the car gets an optional AMG Performance steering wheel - which is finished in Black Dinamica - illuminated AMG Door Sills and Electrically Adjustable Memory Seats. Plus, this car gets the premium Burmester Surround Sound System as part of the Premium package.
Performance wise this car clearly excels, but it provides both a comforting & dynamic driving experience depending on which mood the driver is in. Power comes from Mercedes’ tried & tested 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 engine, which delivers 503bhp and 479lb ft of torque. You’ll comfortably get to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and keeping your foot in you’ll get to a total top speed of 193 mph.
