Before there was the INTERNET I couldn't be anymore dependent on gaming news than to buy or subscribe to video game mags. Its how I became familar to all the pass, present, and future consoles and software. But I just wasn't satisfied with only domestic news. I had to know what was going on in Japan directly. I also was importing titles because back in the day ( and still today ) the American game divisions have been screwing with the translations or cosmetically changing the game for some odd reasons - sigh - Censorship has always a pet peeve of mine...I have fond memories with many of these publications. Some of the mags look mangled because I was taking them anywhere where there was bordem. Or some other mags were horribly mistreated by the mailman - Grrr - Most of the time i'd walked to the newsstands to buy the mags than subscribing out of fear of the mailman, again. In this clip, this isn't even half of my mag collection. I have them all in crates with an acid-free protector sleeve. I figure 20 more years from now this stuff will be great personal reference to gaming history ;) ****I may do another mag clip like this one because I could only fit 10mins****

Gaming Magazine featured in the clip in no particular order:

-Nintendo Fun Club News

-Nintendo Power

-Pocket Power -Limited edition issue during the theatrical screening of "The Wizard"

-Dengeki PC Engine

-PC Engine Fan

-Mega Drive Fan

-Beep! Mega Drive

-Famitsu - I believe this mag is the standard of all gaming mags in Japan.

-Famitsu Weekly - I guess Famitsu couldn't keep up with the demand until they expanded into a weekly magazine. Lots of gaming to cover in that country.

-Elecctronic Gaming Monthly - My #1 domestic magazine of all-time. These guys were the first in the states to give us international news on early game titles. I always looked forward to them each month. Its too bad the publisher Ziff Davis killed their reputation. I'll always have my memories of the original Sendai Publication.

-Mega Play - EGM Suppliment mag for the Sega Genesis.

-Video Games & Computer Entertainment:
owned by Hustler adult mag Larry Flynt.
I used to buy thier mag for their game reviews.

-Daytona USA: Book & CD - I was a Daytona USA fanatic in the arcades. So I had to have something about Daytona USA. It talked about the developers and also included a CD documenting Sega's AM2 Team while developing on the new MODEL 2 PC Board

- Playstation Magazine - I bought my original Playstation in '95. Later came the swap trick to play imported games. I'd look after for new PS games in Japan coming.

- Hyper Playstation

- Super Famicom Magazine - This was THE MAG for Super Nintendo information in Japan.

- Super Famicom Tsushin

- Die Hard: GameFan

- Gamest - Japan's coin-op mag
