Melting down some basic scrap aluminum in a propane furnace and making ingots for remelting at a later date for sand casting. Total take from the small pile of aluminum was 4.6lbs. It used 1.1lbs of propane for the entire melt. Homemade burner with .035 mig tip orifice, approx 15-18 PSI. Melt-Pour time from cold furnace approx 12 minutes for just a 5lb melt if I hadnt been filming....took about 17 cause I was babysitting the camera back & forth :-)
