I actually recorded this video a while back, maybe a couple weeks after Remnant's release. This build has buffed since then due to more lifesteal, better armor ratings, and now the Leto Set would also work with this. A newer updated video with a better description is coming soon. This video was recorded on Normal mode btw.
OUTDATED, but here's the build I was using. All equipment was either +19 or +20 (+10 for the boss melee weapon of course)
If you're looking for a TL;DR since this gets kinda long, Basically I maxed out all kinds of defenses while maximizing melee damage, then giving melee lifesteal. In Normal mode you can easily outheal most of the damage you take, making it a great no-brain no-skill kind of build. just tap Left click til the boss dies

For the weapons:
SMG with Corrosive Aura Mod (for more damage, interchangeable with other mods, good replacements are the Ruin with Undying mod, or the Healing aura mod, or anything that can increase survivability)
Assault Rifle with Mantle of Thorns (for extra bulkiness and less stagger, necessary for the build to work)
Flame Sword (can't remember the name but it's the weapon you get from the Scorcher by cutting off it's tail. A good replacement for this would be the scythe you get from giving the beast heart to the undying king because of the lifesteal it gives. either one works, it's just preference)
Both the guns are really interchangeable based on preference, so use whatever you like, so long as you can use the Mantle of Thorns mod, that's the important part.
For armor, I had the full Void Set. However, the Void set offers different set bonuses now. Regardless, it can still be used for this build to work, but after the patches I'd recommend using 1 piece of the Twisted set since now you get lifesteal from it. Or, you can use the Leto set, which effectively gives the same effect as Mantle of Thorns, thus meaning you can use a different mod, which is a bit better imo. Again, all preference.
For jewelry and whatnot, here's the fun part, I had the Twisted Idol (for extra armor rating) the Leech ember (for lifesteal) and the Keeper's ring (for the elemental resistance which I'll go into detail for in a bit)
For skills, you likely wanna have at least all these maxed out, but I'll order them from most important to least important. I don't remember all the names but I remember the effects.
Armor Rating, Melee Damage, Crit Rating, Crit Damage, Elemental resistance, Melee Resistance, Ranged Resistance, generally any other damage resistance that I might be forgetting, and HP.
From there you can pretty much spec into whatever you want for more versatility.
The build works by maxing out the armor rating to the point where all enemies deal pathetic amounts of damage to you, then giving yourself lifesteal on your melee attacks to outheal the damage that's dealt to you, meaning you don't even have to dodge, just tank through and kill everything. Generally you want to max out defense and max out melee damage. giving yourself more lifesteal is also an option. I only used 1 source of lifesteal in this clip, but there's currently 3 of them available. (the scythe, twisted set, and leech ember) then from there, you don't want to stagger since that prevents your attacks thus prevents your healing, so that's what mantle of thorns/leto set is for, so your healing is more consistent. Now you might be wondering about the elemental resistances, and the reason for this is because the resistances are based on percentages, yet they stack additively. Meaning if you have 2 separate 20% resistances, you get 40%, and since the ring and the skill both give 20% that also stacks with whatever armor you're wearing, plus 20 or 30 from a consumable of your choice, giving you an average of 50%-ish but upwards of 80% elemental resistances across the board, and the reason this is important is because most of the highest damaging attacks from enemies in the game are elemental attacks. When I used this build before making this change, the enemies in Yaesha that received the lightning buffs from the wizard lookin guys would almost one-shot me even though my defense was basically maxed out. this is to ensure nothing in this game can deal that kind of damage to you, and at least in normal mode, nothing does.
Back when recording this, it really only worked on Normal mode because it was easy enough to outheal more damage than you took, but when in Hard or Nightmare the build instantly became unviable due to the sheer damage you'd take. You just couldn't heal fast enough. However, the recent armor update allows you to have much higher defense thanks to defense rating just objectively getting buffed, on top of giving an extra source of lifesteal which isn't even actually necessary when using the Leto set. So now I just use the lifesteal scythe with the Leto set and this build works even on Nightmare mode, and pretty well to boot. Expect a video on this soon. ish.
