Send Grand Khotep Muer into a downward spiral. Typically, it's safe to drill when he's just finished an attack or has just landed on the ground.
As demonstrated at 0:05, pause+unpause twice in quick succession while he's walking on the ground to make him dash towards you (this trick works on all NPCs except the snake mini-bosses and the final boss). This is not necessary for the quick kill, but it saves a little time.
