Skip a sizable portion of Tule Tree and Desierto Caliente with SDG + Olmec Heads + checkpoints. Here is the route in detail (with timestamps for depicted steps:
1. Follow the current route up to and including X'tabay fight.
2. Go to Tule Tree, but awaken the Olmec Head in Forest del Chivo along the way (0:03)
3. At Tule Tree, activate SDG on the first door (0:31).
4. Use Tule Tree's Olmec head to travel to Temple of Rain (0:43).
5. In Temple of Rain, activate the checkpoint next to the door that leads to Alebrije's cage (the area where you get Goat Climb) and then Start + Quit (0:58).
6. Game loads at Tule Tree. Activate SDG on the first door again (1:00).
7. Game loads at Temple of Rain checkpoint. Start + Quit (1:06).
8. Game loads at Tule Tree checkpoint before Exploder and Yellow Skeleton arena. Play through Tule Tree per usual (1:10) [NOTE: swap hop here!].
9. After acquiring Double Jump, Start + Quit (2:20).
10. Descend the Tule Tree and use the Olmec Head to travel to Forest del Chivo (2:45).
11. From Forest del Chivo, enter Pueblucho and Start + Quit (3:13).
12. Game loads at Tule Tree entrance outside of Desierto Caliente. Go to Temple of War from here and play through per usual.
13. After acquiring Dashing Derp Derp, Start + Quit.
14. Game loads at Tule Tree entrance outside of Desierto Caliente. Approach the Olmec Head and travel to Santa Luchita.
15. Go to Sierra Morena and complete the run per usual.
EDIT: In step 12, during the Temple of War it's possible to use the Temple of War's Olmec Head to travel to Santa Luchita and then Olmec Head travel back to Temple of War. Then after acquiring Dashing Derp Derp - Start + Quit (step 13), you'll warp directly to the Olmec Head in Tule Tree. This is ~7 seconds faster in-game time, but ~3 seconds slower RTA.
