I accidentally came across this technique when working on my April Fool's TAS (Room Key Rebirth). I decided to look into it further and it turns out it's pretty strong.
This combines the principles of a mega jump (taking damage next to a ledge for a speed bust to do a really big jump) and a recoil jump (jumping off a platform and shielding damage to attain high negative speed through the air)
By facing away from where I want to go and performing an ESS twist right before I take damage, I can get a twisted megajump. Because bombs are so easy to detonate with neighboring explosions, I can just immediately pull another bomb and it will blow up. Shielding this gives me the recoil speed which is greater than mega jump speed.
