That's _Mega Man Revamped,_ a ROM Hack of Mega Man 1 released this December 2025 to celebrate our Blue Bomber's 38th anniversary!
Created by Doodle Dangernoodle with hacking contributions by Zieldak, and graphics contributions by Amaweks, this one goes in the same vein as the Revamped ROM Hacks of Mega Man 2 and 3: it changes the level design; rebalances the difficulty; improves graphics (all stages have now much better visuals and some changes in level design); and creates a much more polished experience overall;
*Some of the changes you'll find in this ROM Hack:*
Title Screen now has music;
Improved Bosses Sprites and Stages Backgrounds;
Weapon Get screen;
Improved versions of Rolling Cutter and Hyper Bomb: we can now fire them in three different directions (and Hyper Bomb explodes on contact);
Lag is significantly reduced;
Climbing ladders is faster;
I-frames protect us from spikes;
Removal of the Score System;
Number of lives shown below health bar;
No need to use special weapons to collect Magnet Beam;
No more cheap damage from bosses' lingering projectiles after defeating them;
Water Physics now works properly (which makes the CWU-01P much more manageable Buster Only than in the original);
Some changes to the level design to keep the experience fresh;
Rebalanced Difficulty (some examples):
Elec Man and Ice Man deal less damage with their attacks (and take less damage from their weaknesses); Cut Man takes only 2 damage from the Buster and does not have knockback anymore; Big Eyes have now 10 hp only; Foot Holders are not RNG anymore (that infamous section in Ice Man's stage was completely redesigned); Guts Man's stage is longer and more interesting; Health refill after beating bosses during the rematches.
And much more!

[If thats your first time seeing this fangame, keep in mind that Kalinka is a secret character that you unlock by collecting all the letters - J O E S - and then meeting her in a special area located in the final stage]
_OH JOES! (A Proto Man Adventure)_ is full of passion from the very first cutscene to the final image of Proto Man and Kalinka.
I can’t stress enough how much creativity this fangame exudes, which is even more surprising given its (very risky) premise: providing interesting and fun challenges based entirely on one of the most dreadful and tedious types of enemies in the Classic Mega Man franchise: Joes.
Flashman85 (AKA GeminiLaser, AKA Nathaniel Hoover), the witty mind behind this project, dared to explore them in new ways, presenting many inspired setups that on closer inspection reveal themselves to be very satisfying puzzles to solve.
Puzzles to solve. It’s very important to keep that last point in mind during your playthrough. This fangame will be much better appreciated if tackled as some sort of puzzle-action platformer. It’s as much about firing and dodging as it is about thinking and searching for ways to get around tricky combinations of assets. Pick the right mindset, and you’ll have a blast; treat is as a standard Mega Man game, and you’ll risk missing the point entirely.
I usually focus my challenges on bosses and stages, this video being a very rare occasion where I cover the full game. This is even more special because Flashman85 was the person who rekindled my passion for Mega Man. Before (binge) watching his playthroughs both in his Flashman85 and GeminiLaser channels, Mega Man was to me just a franchise that I had enjoyed in the past, but which was completely forgotten in the present.
All of that changed the moment I learned about his videos a few years ago. His enthusiasm, passion, that fire that is much easier to feel than to explain, got me completely hooked. It was extremely contagious. His content and the way he presented it reminded me of why I enjoyed so much those games in the past, convincing me to go back to them, while also introducing me to the wonderful world of fangames and its rich community.
That’s the main reason that inspired me to start recording and sharing my gameplay through my channel, while also interacting more instead of being just a lurker. I tried to cultivate at least a fraction of that immense energy that Flashman85 brings to everything he does. Those changes were paramount to my path, leading me not only to create lots of content, but also to be part of the team creating the fangame _Mega Man: The Sequel Wars_ as its lead tester.
And that’s one of the most difficult and amazing things that a content creator can do: inspire others. Show a very technical video, and those watching will applaud the skill; convey the passion that ignites that skill, and those watching will feel an irresistible urge to try that path as well. Flashman85 did (and does) that to me. And I’m very grateful for that.

Flashman85 has a wonderful channel with lots of fangame content, along with his design analysis and thought process while judging levels in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, which is very insightful for those interested in game design. You can check it here:

He also has another channel (GeminiLaser) with very entertaining and skillful playthroughs of the official Mega Man games. Those videos will teach or remind you why Mega Man games are so delightful:
