If you’ve been thinking on trying some Mega Man ROM Hacks, but have been afraid of their usually high difficulty, _Mega Man 4 Voyage - Blue Version_ is a very good pick. This one is very polished, with sound level design, great music, and interesting new patterns for the MM4 bosses. Even though its difficulty is higher than the original MM4, it is not very demanding or hardcore as some other famous Mega Man ROM Hacks out there.

I’ll just paste below the explanation presented by MartsINY in one of the text files that come with this ROM Hack:
_”When me (MartsINY) and DurfarC started to have a different vision on the game (mostly for level lenght and some other level design aspects), we agreed that after at least 6 month of the original Mega Man 4 Voyage release, I could release a version fitting "How Mega Man 4 Voyage should have been in my vision". So the current ROM hack is not pretending to be better than Mega Man 4 Voyage, but to correspond to my vision of a Mega Man game._
_If you already played the original Mega Man 4 Voyage, consider this game only as a different version of it, such as what it could have been. It is in no way trying to be a huge improvement in accomplishment over Mega Man 4 Voyage (mostly level redesigning was done)._
_This ROM hack is a major overhaul of Mega Man 4 that changes the original game so much that it can almost be considered a new game altogether. In fact, with the exception of the names of the 8 robot masters, very little is left from the original game._
_Mega Man 4 Voyage strives to be one of the most extensive Mega Man ROM hacks to be 100% completed and released to date, with an original storyline, new places to explore, reprogrammed robot master AIs, an improved weapon arsenal, new fortress bosses and an enormous soundtrack with almost 40 original songs to accompany it all. At the same time, it still tries to stick to the “run, jump and shoot” formula of the original classic Mega Man games. The hack should be suitable for veterans and casual players alike; it is more difficult than the original Mega Man 4, but easier than most other ROM hacks and fan games out there._
_What started as a one-man project has resulted in a fine collaboration between DurfarC (main author, level design, programming, music), MartsINY (main boss designer, programming) and chiptune composers Golden Shades, RRThiel, Cosmic Gem and MarkTherence. Furthermore, the hack incorporates patches, programming assets and graphics from a wide range of people.”_
