Hey guys!
This is a new mini-series I want to do on my channel inspired by Mary Beard's documentary series 'Meet The Romans'. Basically I want to 'introduce' you to individual Visigoths and Ostrogoths speaking to us directly from the past by reading their tombstones. This is the tombstone of a poor 15-year-old girl who died in Visigothic Spain, put up by her devastated father Calandronius. On the left is the original Latin, the right is my Gothic translation of the poem, and above is the reference which which you can find it in the Epigraphica Hispaniae database online.
