🔋 Powered by 100% renewable electricity, Swedish company Candela uses advanced hydrofoil technology that lifts the boat above the water. This design reduces energy consumption by 80% while minimising wake and noise – making it kinder to nature and wildlife.
🌊 Now sailing in Stockholm, Nova offers a fast, quiet and energy-efficient commute between Stockholm City Hall and Ekerö – a 15km journey – in just 30 minutes. This means cutting travel time in half compared with commuting by car.
📢 The route is a pilot project run by @Candelaboats, @trafikverket and @sl.storstockholm to explore how hydrofoil technology can enable faster, more affordable and emissions-free water travel. Nova will operate in Stockholm until August 2025 and Stockholm public transport travel cards and tickets are valid on board.
🌐 Candela’s innovative technology is receiving global attention, with orders in 2024 and 2025 from the US, New Zealand, Germany and India (to name a few).
