Meet Ryan Thompson, Greenfield Village Glass Shop lead and competitor on season four of the Netflix series Blown Away.
Thompson was drawn to art and music at an early age, which led him to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green University. He often compares glassmaking to performing in a musical ensemble: “Much like music, glassblowing is a universal language. Its techniques transcend culture and unite its practitioners from around the globe. Together, a group of skilled and focused artisans can work in near perfect harmony to achieve the shared goal of creating something beautiful.”
