Shmup where you can absorb bullets and melee enemies to charge a powerful bullet cancelling burst shot. Crazy good game that shows a lot of love for the genre. A lot of thought seems to be put into the scoring too.
Clearing out enemies and bullets with your melee aura and building up meter for a big beam is very satisfying. Cancelling higher value bullets gives big score items.
Being at low health or low hyper lowers your shot power a bit.
You can chain back to back hypers by collecting EN up items which spawn faster the more you're cancelling bullets and killing enemies, eventually spawning bigger and bigger gems from every enemy kill. To make it tighter the hyper timer counts down faster each time you extend it.

This game runs on the same engine as Vacant Ark & Iwanaga so using dgvoodoo or similar is recommended on modern Windows. The background frame achieving transparency by blinking every other frame is awkward if any frame pacing is lost but everything else holds up well (for me this was invisible when playing but appears in recording)

![Helldivers 2 [difficulty 9, 4-player]: Launch ICBM - Terminids, Angels Venture - 2024/03/09
I really like this map, it has a lot of cool visual things going on without a low visibility gimmick.
Max difficulty with random players is fun recently, most people seem to have gotten used to the game and mechs help a lot (even if someone has them equipped normally).
I was surprised we managed to get the main objective in this run considering how badly things started. I think this is one of the cleaner games Ive played against terminid. This weapon loadout is very ignorant though.
I dont see the point of complaining about current state of the highest difficulty mode when you can beat it with such unorganized play and still be ignorant of most threats with a shield backpack. Terminids could really use more enemy types for variety though. The way difficulty increase is increasing the count of 2 heavy enemies is the boring part. Automatons have way more variants of enemies and seem more complete. 5:00 final boss
Very ugly run until the last boss fight. Was focusing on clearing but want to do better. Score is abysmal, a balanced run would be 5M+

Everything after the Stage 3 midboss/mission was played blind here. (yes, blind Stalin no-miss)
Funny game but also super simple and easy. Makes me want to give Shock Troopers a shot again..
Scoring is probably fun. Grenade kills get a multiplier based on simultaneous enemy kills & bullet erases. Jigoku no Maritan - Ikari no F●ckin Commando [HELL]: 1CC 931M (French-Bread 2009)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/E3zsrwFihXk/mqdefault.jpg)

![GBF Relink [Proud, Single player]: A Quest of Fire and Earth (a.pwr 15000)
These quests are pretty rough. Multiple AOE dragons make your CPU allies become bad at dodging. I resorted to doing multiplayer for the Frost and Storm quest. CPUs kept getting chaindeathed by AOEs even though my char was doing good damage, couldnt figure out how to get around that. ![Dolls Nest [NG Hard mode]: VS Royal Guard Corps & Final boss
Fairly fun game with some cool exploration and visual designs.
Doing your first playthrough on hard difficulty is pretty challenging. Royal Guard Corps is one of the tougher bosses, took me a few tries.
Gameplay is very much Armored Core (1-3 & 5th gen, 4 and 6 not so much) + Demons Souls (large areas accessible through archstones, no estus flask so reliance on consumables, lots of empty atmospheric areas & gimmick bosses, music only during boss fights.. etc) Dolls Nest [NG Hard mode]: VS Royal Guard Corps & Final boss](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/EgrWMEDNNns/mqdefault.jpg)

![Touhou Fantastic Danmaku Festival 3 [EX-Ultimate]: Marisa clear
Pretty fun extra stage, though I dont think it outdoes the main game. Easier / shorter than I expected. I wasnt ready for the final which seems like the thing you really need to learn..
Looking forward to Ultra mode for the main stages.
