Medical expired? You may still be able to fly as a Sport Pilot!
Under the new MOSAIC rules, pilots holding a higher grade of certificate (private, commercial, etc) can exercise the privileges of a sport pilot certificate using a valid
driver’s license as the medical qualification. However, that pilot will be held to Sport Pilot operating limitations (For example, a private pilot who is exercising the privileges of a sport pilot certificate would be subject
to the restriction of carrying one passenger pursuant to 14 CFR 61.315(c)(4)).
