One of the hardest parts of instrument flying is learning to brief while still flying the airplane.
During an approach brief, the airplane doesn’t pause. You still need a constant instrument scan, altitude control, course tracking, and communication with ATC—all while reading and processing the plate.
The key is breaking the brief into small pieces between scans.
Scan the instruments → read a line → scan again → continue the brief.
The airplane always comes first. A good brief fits into the scan — it never replaces it.
