In this video, I play Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries against the Clans. Clan merc contracts are much more difficult compared to Inner Sphere contracts. If you try to attack Clan mechs head on then you are going to get cut down very quickly. This is because Clan mechs have a lot more firepower, do more damage, and have longer ranges compared to Inner Sphere mechs. To take out the Clanners, you have to use superior tactics, like singling out a Clan mech and disposing them one at a time. Using Clan ER Large lasers, and Clan LRMs in unison would enable you to destroy your Clan opponents quickly. The longer you stand toe to toe with a Clan mech, the more damage you will take, and it can be fatal.
Fighting against the Clanners and prevailing against them is rewarding, because the spoils include Clan mechs, and Clan equipment which is much more valuable than its Inner Sphere counterparts. This is why I take Clan contracts. Taking Clan contracts carries a lot of risk, you and your team could take a lot of damage, or you could lose expensive Clan mechs.
