The City Rail Link (CRL) is the largest transport infrastructure project ever to be undertaken in New Zealand. The CRL is a 3.45 km long underground rail scheme, planned to be open in 2024 and to double Auckland’s rail capacity. The rail scheme includes twin running tunnels and three stations, two of which are underground.
This webinar provides an overview of the project’s carbon footprint, including embodied carbon, construction and operational energy emissions. We explore how a baseline footprint was established, highlight some of the key the initiatives undertaken to reduce the final footprint and present the results.
Carbon footprint is a key consideration in all infrastructure projects. This webinar will benefit all professionals who are involved in the planning, civil and MEP design or construction of rail infrastructure, and provide them with practical examples of innovations which helped reduce carbon footprint on the CRL.
