MCSO K9 "RAMBO" AND K9 DEPUTY MATTHEW HOOPER SUCCESSFULLY TRACK GRAND THEFT AUTO SUSPECT
On November 11, 2017 at approximately 7:11 a.m., MCSO deputies observed a tan 2005 Hyundai passenger vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Putnam County, pull into the parking lot of the Queens Garden Resort, located at 3340 South Pine Avenue in Ocala. The driver of the stolen vehicle, Robert Wade Hardister (DOB: 09/17/1991), immediately parked the car and fled on foot when he saw deputies. Several units responded and established a perimeter. K9 Deputy Matthew Hooper and K9 Rambo tracked the suspect to the 500th block of SE 35 Place, where Hardister surrendered to deputies without incident. Later on at the Marion County Jail, MCSO detention deputies observed Hardister attempt to conceal Marijuana on his person while he was being booked. Hardister was also served with a Marion County Warrant for Grand Theft Auto as well.
