The MIami Conservancy District says it must cut down 16 trees on Riverview Avenue bordering Dayton's McPhersontown Historic District, citing Federal Guidelines and Ohio Administrative Code. But the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's own review says that the evidence as to whether trees harm the structural integrity of earthen levees is inconclusive, and must be studied further.
