McDSP APB brings real analogue processing into your DAW with total session recall. In this video, we explain what McDSP APB is, why engineers use it, and how the new DC-2 Dual Compressor fits into the workflow.
If you've seen McDSP APB mentioned and wondered whether it is just expensive outboard with a plugin wrapper, this is the part worth understanding. APB is a programmable analogue processor that gives you up to 16 channels of real analogue compression and saturation, controlled directly from plugin instances in your DAW. That means you get the sound and behavior of analogue hardware, but with settings saved inside the session. For hybrid mixing engineers, that is the real hook.
We look at the McDSP DC-2 Dual Compressor, including its FET, VCA, and Optical modes, series or parallel configurations, onboard EQ, saturation options, and unusually flexible sidechain HPF settings. The video also shows the DC-2 in action on drums and vocals, so you can hear what this kind of analogue control looks like in a practical mix context.
If you're researching a McDSP APB review, trying to understand programmable analogue processing, or deciding whether the DC-2 is a meaningful addition to the APB platform, this should give you a clear overview.

![Source-Connect 4 Tested: Remote Atmos With No Compromise?
Source-Connect 4 is the first remote collaboration tool certified for Dolby Atmos with full metadata to the Renderer. We tested whether the no-compromise claim survives a real session.
Paul Maunder joined a live Source-Connect 4 session running between two certified Dolby Atmos facilities, one in California and one in Amsterdam, to see what remote Atmos collaboration actually delivers in practice. The promise is significant. Source-Connect 4 streams up to 128 channels of beds and objects along with the Atmos metadata, rather than sending a folded-down re-render, so the destination room is no longer limited by the source setup. In theory a mixer in headphones can deliver to a full cinema rig with nothing lost in translation.
This video walks through how that holds up. We cover the certification, what the metadata connection to the Dolby Atmos Renderer means for review and approval, how the transatlantic session behaved, where the workflow earns its place in post and immersive music, and the practical questions any facility will ask before relying on it for client sessions.
If you handle remote Atmos mixing, remote review or remote approval, this is the test you want before committing.
