This little cutie patooti depicts the Matukituki River in the South Island of New Zealand - one of my favorite locations for painting, both plein air, and gathering reference.
This piece is only 6x6”, forcing me to be a little more strategic with my colour choices and edgework. I gave the riggers a bash here, and they felt like much bigger brushes given the tiny little panel! It may be small, but there’s a lot going on in this scene. Check it out.
