I did this sketch of Aurelie way back at the start of the “100 Heads Challenge” - something we’re tackling on Tisch Academy. I’ve personally seen a tonne of growth, drawing after drawing. This one was a real challenge - not sure if it was the smooth complexion and soft light, but it still has something, despite a few rough patches!
I’ve severely limited the variables as part of this challenge. I started with just plain white Fabriano sketch paper, laying in shading over the construction lines, going for a full range of values. Maybe I need to push those values a couple of registers deeper. Still, good fun!
