There’s an incredible view just near Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand - Skipper’s Canyon. This painting attempts to capture it, though it’s small, it was awesome fun times at the easel!

This takes me back to the day of tiny paintings and even tinier brushes. There’s not a lot here in the way of trees. This is tussock country. The subtle fall off of yellows and reds was a challenge to paint.
As usual, this is another one I’ve added to my list to make into a bigger piece. I know I say that a bunch. Hopefully I will get to it. I’m reminded of what Rockwell once said “I’ll never have enough time to paint everything I want to paint.”
