Maurice Manning, born and raised in rural Kentucky, takes us into the realms of Nature poetry, reforestation and a changing cultural landscape.
A Pulitzer Prize nominated poet and a vocal environmentalist, Maurice explores his childhood influences, juxtaposing these with the story of his work rewilding both abandoned strip mine sites and the modest 8 hectare (20 acre) plot of Kentucky smallholding that he now calls home and is currently attempting to return to its virgin state. But what ultimately emerges is a timely manifesto on how to live a life connected with our lived environment that has lessons for us all.
