Matt Gaw talks about his love letter to the night sky, Under the Stars, which details a quest to reconnect with the different types of light the night has to offer, in a range of environments across the UK. Inspired by a desire for connection and wonder, Gaw ventured to the Dark Sky Observatory in Galloway, and to the depths of Dartmoor, and looked at the damaging effect that artificial light is having on wildlife. Matt Gaw is a writer, journalist and naturalist who lives in Bury St Edmunds. His work has been published in the Guardian, Telegraph and Times. He works with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, edits Suffolk Wildlife, writes a monthly country diary for the Suffolk Magazine and is a director of the Suffolk Festival of Ideas.
