With more than 20 years’ experience spearheading public health initiatives that enhance the health of individuals, families and communities, Dayna Long, MD, professor in the Department of Clinical Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, is on a mission to eradicate disparities in children’s health. That is why she’s been honored with the 2024 Edison T. Uno Award for Public Service.
Dayna is widely recognized as a trustworthy and accountable leader working to improve the health of under-resourced communities. As a co-founder of the BLOOM (Black Love Opportunity and Outcome Improvement in Medicine) Clinic, she is passionate about patients seeing themselves represented in the doctors they receive care from.
