Hi friends! I've got another loooong video for you today. This time I'm going through my entire eyeshadow palette collection and deciding what to carry forward with me into 2023.
A note about declutters: I have a love/hate relationship with them.
On the one hand, I hate the waste of it all. The wasted money, the wasted product, the literal waste that ends up in the landfill (I do try to rehome as much as possible but I only have so many friends and they're only so interested in makeup). If I stop and think too long about the process, I can mire myself down in feelings of guilt and regret.
On the other hand, I enjoy the sense of freedom it gives me to part ways with items that are overwhelming me or that just tie up space and don't get used. I also appreciate the lessons that I learn with every declutter (although, admittedly, sometimes those lessons are short lived).
This particular declutter has driven home the point to me that it no longer serves me, personally, to buy as many palettes as possible for the sake of reviewing them. Many of the ones I purchased in 2023 for review purposes went unused for a few reasons. For example, I was overwhelmed by the influx of new products and I bought palettes without really considering the colour story and whether it even suited my preferences.
