This month we spoke with Maritza Centeno from the Matagalpa community in Nicaragua. She is a Nicaraguan indigenous leader who has been invited to speak at the UN. She is also a spiritual leader and the founder of a coffee co-operative that includes 23 indigenous women owner-workers. Their homeland is currently being deforested by miners in search of gold.
