Terribly sad to hear about the death of Martin Amis, one of the first rabbit holes I fell down as a literature student, and which I never really climbed out of.

There are lovely obits everywhere but Sir Salman Rushdie's response to his friend's passing in The New Yorker is just right - newyorker.com/culture/postscript/only-martin-sounded-like-martin-amis

I did a longer review of all the Amis books I've read here - youtu.be/fNgSTkGot4k

His most recent, and now last, book showed an author still firing on all cylinders in his 70s and I would recommend "Inside Story" to anyone wary of starting with his (still essential) bad boy fiction of the 80s.
