I have to thank Chris so much for telling me to go back and watch the third series of Doctor Who, because unlike me, Chris practically fell in love with Martha Jones the minute she stepped on scene, and I never really gave her a chance. After going back and watching, the third series turned out to be one of my favourites. Its such a good season! And Martha Jones is actually one of my favourite companions now -- I'm such an idiot for disliking her. It had a lot to do with wanting to see the fourth season because of how much that Christmas Special made me fall in love with Donna Noble, and also the fact that I missed Rose like crazy after she left the show. Series Three is spectacular.
Chris, I wanted to make you a Martha Jones video, and hopefully this one is a little bit of a surprise too. I've rendered this so many times, but its never come out properly, its really late and so I had to just use this one. The quote at the end stuffs up, but I don't think it disrupts the flow too much - just a bit of a jump. Anyway, I wanted to make this as Martha centric as possible, as I know you don't ship Martha/Doctor, and neither do I, but I guess, when vidding any companion on the show the Doctor is included in more ways than one.
Mumford and Sons is an amazing band, and you've been suggesting two other songs that I just couldn't figure out what to do with yet -- but I was listening to "Awake my Soul" and I thought the lyrics really had that 'Martha tone' and I could use them for her. I was going to get into more detail, with the rest of her S4 arc, but I think having it centered more on S3 is symbolic for the fact that you told me to go back and give it a chance, and I did. And I loved it! This season is sooo good. In fact, the first episode of DW I ever saw was "Gridlock" and I love that episode! On the downside, this season made me want to start Torchwood, a show that I totally can NOT get into.
Anywaaaaaay... I really hope you like it, and hope this video surprised you! XD

ugh, this is kinda crap, I know! But Chris always tells me how he would have liked to see a Lana/Oliver thing on Smallville. And I mean, I think that could have been something fun to see, I dont know HOW they could have worked that in, but I loved their scene together in Bride and so, you know, why not? Justin Hartley seems to have chemistry with every female on this show (hell, in Prophecy I said: If Oliver wasnt with Chloe, then I would love to see an Oliver/Kara relationship!) But yeah, this is just a small Lana/Oliver thing.
Basically the story is ... Oliver wants to get back together, but Lana doesnt really think its the best idea (says its complicated). But then, you know, Oliver isnt going to give up. They sort of give it a shot, but Lana realises that she cant be with him because hes, you know, Green Arrow, and he saves the world, he protects people, and Lana doesnt think she deserves the love of a superhero (youre green arrow, youre better than this [me]). But, Oliver tells her that shes the best part of his life, and then BAM, they get together officially, get hitched, all of that. Then the its complicated starts to make sense when Lex is back, and strikes Lana across the face. Green Arrow steps in to protect the woman he loves, but in the middle of his brawl with Lex, Lexs gun goes off and he accidentally kills Lana. Then, as Oliver cradles over his wife, Lex puts a gun to Olivers head and kills him. Ends with Lex at the funeral of the woman he loved, and the man he hated more than anything.
So yeah, I hope you enjoy, Chris especially. I know its kinda short, and kinda terribly put together, but I really wanted to try and do a Lana/Oliver video in time for your birthday, and so I hope you can ... look past that? LMFAO. Anyway, I cant wait to finish your final birthday video! I really hope you like that one too! XD")
