Rarely visited Markarfljotsgljufur Canyon is not one of the deepest canyons in Iceland but it just may the most colorful! A major reason for the lack of visitor traffic is it is located in the Icelandic Highlands, only accessible for a couple months a year. In addition, one needs a sturdy 4X4 and more importantly solid off road driving skill to reach the canyon. That is why we used Iceland in Motion and more specifically Thor Haraldsson to take us to this incredible location.
