Aussie Garage | Mark Transforms a Toy Car to Full-Size Ford Hot Rod @AussieGarage | Uploaded April 2024 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Today's episode we headed down to see Mark who change a Toy car into a Full size Ford Custom Hot Rod. Firstly, we check out his own take on a hotrod his wooden clad creation. Mark has hand built this car in his shed. It all started when he looked at a 1908 -1932 Ford Ute Model car he had and decided to transform this into a Full Size Custom Ford Hot Rod . So, he whipped out a tape measure and some chalk and started drawing it up on the workshop floor, before he started building the custom chassis from scratch.

Mark made shore he followed the guide lines set by the Department of Transport and had the required inspections so on completion it's is all legal. Its running a roller 302 V8 from an AU Falcon XR8 that has had the fuel injection. He removed the Fuel Injection system and replaced with a Edelbrock carb. The gearbox is a C6 with a shortened diff, with disc brakes all round.

When it comes to the body Mark wanted to be different, he had some fiberglass guards and modified them to suit his vision. then he clad the body in wood. He was inspired his foreman who he watched build an A model roadster and other rod builders of the time around Perth. The interior is built into a tight space with a simple bench seat. He has fitted Custom Dolphin gauges who now do kmph only speedos. the steering column is a short dash mount to comply with the current rules. In the back theirs a large alloy tank, battery and brake booster. There's a lot of cool features to this rod and being hand built there's lots to look at and see how Mark has solved certain problems. all and all its testament to Marks skills and vision.

Mark used to race and build Super Mods cars back in the day, which has given loads of experience customising vehicles and getting thing to correctly fit and function correctly. A lot of parts have been sourced by eBay and the Armadale Auto Spares in Armadale, Western Australia.

Next we look at Marks T bucket, or the mail order bride as he calls it. This was the first rod he built, on this one he ordered a Ian Camron design chassis kit, I guess this was his way of easing himself into rod building. This is your classic T bucket build. simply a seat, a steering wheel and a big overpowered motor. It's running a worked 302 V8 engine witch is a waste or time according to Mark as traction is very limited. It has a high stall C4 and 9 inch diff. And with the Zoomies out the side this is your Classic Hot Rod look. He had to make the zoomies quieter for licensing reasons, however, it still has a great note to it.

Aussie Garage will be back with Mark to show the rest of his Car Collections and to do a Shed Tour as well. Super thanks to Mark for allowing us to interview him about his rides and we look forward to coming back soon.
