The Jericho Connection | Mark 1:39: CALVINISTS Cannot Explain Why Jesus Did This || The Gospel of Mark in Greek @thejerichoconnection3473 | Uploaded August 2023 | Updated October 2024, 34 minutes ago.
We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:39. Jesus has gone to a solitary place early in the morning to pray. When Peter and the other disciples wake up they start searching for him desperately. Finally they find him and tell him that everybody has been searching for him. Jesus does not give any explanation but urges his disciples to move on to the next villages around the Lake of Galilee. He needs to preach the gospel there as he has preached it in Capernaum. What are these other villages? Chorazin, for example. Bethsaida, for instance. All these cities will come up again in another passage of the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus will launch an anathema against them because they did not repent. We argue that Calvinists cannot possibly explain why Jesus did this.
