In Lindau on Lake Constance there is an opera of a very special kind: here marionettes take the stage. The opera is directed by Bernhard Leismüller. He literally pulls all the strings: every marionette is created by him, from carving it out of wood to dressing it in the hand-sewn costumes. Since Bernhard started the opera, he has made over 400 pieces.
