The harmonica has never been more back...
For a while I've been hoping to cover music from Mario Kart with a really exciting racing video of some sort.. As I can't stunt drive safely and my budget would explode to try getting into that, I decided to hop into UE5/Blender and piece together a fun driving video with references from Ford v Ferrari, Cars, and so on. The challenge of creating a "driveable" rigged car to make realistic vehicle animations was pretty obvious so, I hope the janky humorous take makes up for it!
Musically I have LOVED Mario Kart World's soundtrack to death, and both Allison and I listened through it twice on road trips in the last month. From its love letter to 70s folk rock to jazz fusion, metal, blues, and more it's been a divine demonstration of what game music can be! Not only that, but the musicianship displayed is jaw-dropping and I still have many songs to transcribe and learn! I worked on getting the harmonica riff down, but it's a pretty fast one! If you enjoy Mario Kart, maybe give this fun little instrument a go!
