There's an Action Replay code named "300cc" that significantly boosts kart speed, and I've decided to do a Time Trial of all 32 tracks in the game using this code.

The first thing you'll notice is the change in driving style at this velocity: using mini-turbos doesn't further increase speed, so they're not as commonly used. The most challenging aspect of this mode is staying on track. The uneven terrain causes the kart to make large jumps, making it very easy to lose control and veer off the track entirely.

Boost panels provide the same speed boost as in 150cc mode, so it's actually better to avoid them in 300cc mode, as they effectively slow you down compared to the higher speeds you can achieve without them.

Now, I'll list some techniques used.

- "Wall Bonking": This technique helps prevent the kart from gaining too much height on jumps, keeping you on the track and in control of the kart.
- "Ultra Shortcuts": The increased speed and jumping capability of the kart open up new shortcuts that aren't possible in normal mode. However, there are even larger shortcuts that can't be used due to how the game's checkpoint system works, which won't count laps when passing through the finish line.
- "Decelerating": Slowing down in this mode doesn't reduce your speed but controls the internal acceleration of the kart. This results in smaller jumps after slopes and also helps to keep the kart on the track.
- "Mini-Turbos": As mentioned earlier, using mini-turbos doesn't increase speed, so they are less utilized in this mode. However, contrary to decelerating, mini-turbos can be used to maximize the kart's internal acceleration, allowing for larger jumps after track elevations, which is necessary for certain shortcuts.
