My friend Cj and I played this Super Mario 64 rom hack called Mario in the Dreamscape, through SM64 Coop Deluxe. It’s my first time playing and even seeing this hack!
It’s always fun exploring new adventures in Mario’s world, even though 3D Mario hacks always felt a bit iffy to me. I certainly wouldn’t have played this on my own. But it was a lot of fun, and funny, with a friend! Plus I genuinely liked the lava world, Floral Flame Falls and its music, which I discovered is Sonic music! Pretty awesome considering I’m seeing the third Sonic movie soon and really excited! I loved hearing other familiar songs from Mario and Kirby, and seeing recognizable things from Galaxy and 3D Land, huge childhood games (even though it wasn’t necessarily good news lol)!
I was getting tired after a few hours though, so am glad we paused for now. Because I was literally playing all day, I woke up late at 11 due to being exhausted from activities yesterday and got on at 1 PM! I need a break to type the two stories I want to work on badly haha
This rom hack overdoes it with the 64 wall jumping I’m telling you… Also Bowser CHEATED WHEN WE BEAT HIM THE FIRST TIME??! Sore loser.
Points taken off for some poor level design choices, a little minor but still unnecessary language, and MATH— just kidding about the math part but it did bring back some bad school memories…
This is quite fun and silly with a friend nevertheless— And now I have a new volcano theme song I love, thanks Sonic!! Always up for more great adventures in Mario’s world!
Note: Trimmed out a small part at 35 min due to yet ANOTHER false claim for video game music. I am getting tired of these (insert not nice word here). It’s astonishing the false claims have been suddenly occurring more often lately, but at least this one wasn’t damaging.
