This tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) was completed by Mario 64 Master (Scott Rogoff) on October 23, 2019.
This was the TAS world record for this level until I achieved 7.33 on April 4, 2020 (https://youtu.be/FbQBL4H6Kaw).
The previous record was 7.43 by GarySSBM (https://youtu.be/l8CWAkpeXn8).
Comparison with the 7.43 run:
- 1 frame was saved by jumping for target 5 a frame sooner (in-game timer 2.90). I copied this technique from Zampas video here: https://youtu.be/quSMqBORYq4
- 1 frame was saved by optimizing the movement for targets 6-7, so that the last waveland before target 8 could leave the ground 1 frame sooner (in-game timer 5.30).
- 2 frames were saved by optimizing the movement between targets 8 and 10. Notably, starting the wall jump higher allows Samus to be farther left after the target 9 slipoff (in-game timer 6.67).

This tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) was completed by Mario 64 Master (Scott Rogoff) on April 4, 2020.
This was the TAS world record for this level until I achieved 7.28 on April 25, 2020 (https://youtu.be/05yBRwdqLX4).
My previous best (and previous world record) was 7.36, from 6 months prior (https://youtu.be/D7L2 phX2w).
Compared to the 7.36 run, 2 frames were saved by optimizing the movement between targets 9 and 10. Notably, starting the fast fall sooner allows Samus to move further upwards on the first frame of the air dodge (in-game timer 7.16).
This TAS is 20 frames faster than my real-time 7.67 run (https://youtu.be/n-wDUGsHnoc).
