The new Marin Alpine Trail E arrived just in time for our 2026 eMTB Shootout, giving us the opportunity to put Marin's latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5-powered enduro eMTB through the same demanding testing as 14 of its biggest competitors.
With sensible component choices, 170mm-ready enduro capability, and a price that undercuts many premium competitors, the Alpine Trail E isn't trying to win with flashy features—it simply aims to deliver outstanding performance where it matters most. Throughout our testing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, it consistently punched above its price class with a calm, composed ride that inspired confidence on demanding terrain.
