On 10 August 2024, The Forge, in collaboration with the Socio-Economic Rights Institute of South Africa (SERI), hosted an event titled “Marikana: 12 Years of Disruption, Loss, and Denial Since 2012” — a commemorative event to mourn, remember, and revive the collective call for #JusticeForMarikana. The event featured a panel discussion, as well as music and poetry.


Panel:

- Koketso Moeti, Activist and Founding Executive Director of
Amandla.mobi
- Asenati Tukela, SERI attorney leading the case on behalf of the
families.

Music & Poetry:

- Poet(s).
