It's been a while since I've heard Cise Star so when I recently discovered he had collaborated with Marcus D I knew I was in for a treat. "Earth Angel" is off of "The Lone Wolf" LP.
It should be no surprise that this track is an eclectic powerhouse right from the beginning. Cise star's rhythm and poetry cut through nicely against the mellow ambience that is so uniquely Marcus D.
It definitely doesn't hurt to have the acoustic guitar frequently going back and forth from more traditional spanish arpeggios to sharp, staccato chords that add a second layer of depth to the drum loops. And to top it off, a smooth, clean solo that gives you a break to catch your breathe.

A nice ode to "Nujabes - Lady Brown", I suspect I'll be listening to this track for quite some time.
