The OLPC XO-1, the original One Laptop Per Child, is an interesting laptop. More rugged than at first glance, it is the precursor to the “netbook” craze.
Back in 2008, OLPC developer “NeoAmsterdam”, created a custom port of Mini vMac for the XO-1. He had to sacrifice some features. For example, it only supports a single disk image. And it’s still quite capable. This video is recorded at 2-time normal speed. It takes nearly two minutes for it to boot Sugar, load a stripped down Fedora 18, and finally auto start the emulator. Xdotool is used to send ctrl+f to the active window switching Mini vMac to full screen mode.
