Ive always wanted to do this ever since we started bossing together as teammates more than 3 years ago - tag team with my best mate against the nastiest, thickest final boss for an extended period of fight to sum up our progression thus far.
A run without Kanna is always going to be challenging, especially when both of our jobs do not have our own job exclusive binds, we could only make use of erda nova on the Sword of Creation in Phase 1. There is no dynamic duo buffs this time like we did for the 3-Man and All-Star speed runs, instead we have the help of the BTS Swan Dream Title (50AF) and event Deity Potion (30AF) to boost our Arcane Force enough to get a 10% final damage advantage. While we both did not do particularly well in Phase 3, I felt our Phase 1 and Phase 2 were coordinated and executed pretty well. Most importantly, Im glad this is possible. Given that we would most probably take 40 minutes or more to finish the boss, its safe to conclude that we are both nowhere near soloing this boss like the GMS players. Maybe when damage cap is released... til then, enjoy the vid!

What can I say... we got faster! Duh. Pardon me for being a dud and forgetting the existence of seed rings prior to the Heretic Hilla(re)run. We still only have 5 practices a day so we did not do the other bosses or rerun the earlier ones so I can use my seed rings.
Thanks everyone involved for coming together and working this out together in an organised and efficient manner. Lets do this again if Dynamic Duo or other significant Crit Damage buffs come back!")

The chill run continues for the start of March and were able to clear as a team this time... until ZehroHH crashed upon clearing Black Mage. Guess the family portrait will have to wait.
Meanwhile Im hearing about other squads trying to adopt similar strat (which seems to be heavily unpopular among gms viewers btw) and seeking our teammates for advice, hope to see another squad clear for the month of March! Gambatte~

I have all sorts of unintended stuff happened in the past week.
Guess it was not meant to be. Sorry to disappoint, Im every bit as disappointed with my failure in my desperate attempts since I began trying about 10 days ago.
Mishaps in previous runs include:
1) Multiple BoD bugs in P3 that causes me to lose aggression, thereby pace and survivability
2) Just plain throwing lives in P3 with poor gameplay
3) BoD bug in P4
4) Final cut bug in P4 on a run that was faster than this run until it happened with 13mins left to go 3 days prior; closest run ever, pacing-wise. (For non dual blade users, losing an iframe and constant 40% final damage meant that I cannot complete the run in time. For dual blade users, have anyone ever experienced not being able to cast final cut in a boss fight, even after dying and reviving? First time in my 5 years of playing this game...)
5) Once entered without summoned pets after removing for a photoshoot that resulted in a lack of pace in P1 and getting smashed by both knights in a small cage
And finally, I equipped the wrong badge for this run, losing pace over the course of P3 and P4. One badge may not make much of a difference for a short boss fight, but over the course of an hour, it adds up to a 2 min slower P3, and an estimated 3-4 min slower P4. And of course, very discouraged with cracking my BoD twice in P4 while attacking constantly, having to pause, swap to Black Shield with lower damage output plus dodge more stuff just to survive, then swap back to White when BoD is back up.
Im just really annoyed with myself, I know it can be done, but I was unable to deliver. With complications in work and family I was unable to attempt until recently. Finally got the swing of things going, each fail just adds up the pressure and sense of disappointment until I got as close as I can in this video, HP-wise. With Neo patch arriving tomorrow releasing damage cap, it wouldnt be the same sense of achievement any more.
PS: I will bounce back and recover. Just let me wallow in self pity in the mean time.")

Since the cheese for Night Lords Spreadthrow on Phase 3 is no big feat, some of my Dual Blade buddies were wondering if we would suffer in the genesis quest as a Dual Blade. Fret not, it can be done. 1 minute buffs can be cast just before dealing the killing blow on Phase 2, and be sure to move during Blade Storm to prevent the attack block after 30 seconds in the same spot, timing can be more comfortable. For reference, Im using a 2 second cooldown reduction hat in this run instead of CarteThrones 3 second reduction. And oh, Asura for bomb is just so sweet.
Recommended cycle for Phase 3:
Blade Tornado - Karmic Fury - Phantom Blow for 3 seconds - Blood for Blood 2 - Blade Storm - Blade Tornado - Karmic Fury - Ring of Restraint - Phantom Blow - Blade Tornado - Karmic Fury")
