Hard Lotus and all the bosses past it actually have good rare drops. In the past I've avoided freezers and used only minimal buffs for my solos, but because I really want those drops I'm allowing myself to use anything I can get my hands on for Hard Lotus and up.
Anyways, other than health, the main differences Hard Lotus has over Normal Lotus are:
- Seemingly double the debris falling from the sky.
- The small blue debris causes stun.
- Everything does a lot more damage.
Each of these individually aren't that bad. But when you combine all three of those together, in addition to all the annoyances from normal mode (5 lives), you get one of the most difficult, unfair, RNG-infested fights in the entire game. This is the reason Hard Lotus is considered to be even more difficult than Hard Lucid for full parties of six.

Darknell, the final normal-mode boss to exist in the game as of this video. This is the first time Ive fought a boss thats a higher level than me, and in Reboot, that means a hefty final damage reduction to all my attacks.
Normally, this boss would come before Hard Lotus. And despite all the BS thrown around, its still easier to survive than Hard Lotus. But, I was challenging myself to not use buff freezers or green potions, and there was the aforementioned final damage reduction. Plus, this boss is basically impossible without knockback resistance. Most of the attacks hit the character for tons of lines at once so I couldnt rely on Lucent Brand, so I had to wait for Neo to tera-burn a Mihile.")

At this point, Ive lost count of how many videos Ive made of beating up poor Lotus. But honestly, with the way he spams perma-stun chain debris and the way his pitched boss drop keeps blowing up, he deserves it.
I didnt realize until watching back through this, but I got so many lucky immune barrier procs in this fight... I shouldve ended with like just one life left.")
