A new inkwell note has dropped! The GMS dedicated dev team is working hard on providing us with new exclusive content and is working on implementing some requested features! Let’s check out what what our chief product officer and the GMS team has to say!
First of all, rush over to the event hall for free gifts! This time we’re getting 2 magnificent growth potions, 10 experience nodistones, one symbol selector coupon from which you can get 500 arcane symbols or 100 sacred symbols, one growth selector coupon, 3 sol erda/erda fragments coupons, a character slot coupon, 60 special medal of honor , 5 mystic familiar cards and finally the calligraphy damage skin! Those are some pretty sick rewards! Looks like my wild hunter doesn’t need to train afterall hehe.
Let’s go over the inkwell note next to see what’s up! The GMS team is still scaling up, and working hard for us. If you are a dev or gameplay engineer and want to contribute, Nexon is still looking for quite a few positions for the Western MapleStory Group! As someone from EU those salaries are crazy haha. I just wish Nexon would hire me as a senior product manager so I can buff pages even more. Anyway the note mentions that the team is happy that some of their work was met with excitement and they will continue to work hard for us and make sure to listen to the player feedback as well! As long as they don’t remove something similar to hextech chests like in league that would be great. haha
First of all the team is still working on improving the field harvesting system, so how and where to get crafting materials. They are planning to introduce this already in March this year! I am pretty curious to see what they are cooking! Perhaps new map elements with a small minigame will spawn from time to time. Also the team is still working on the interactive world merge. I can’t wait for Luna to merge with.. uhh. I can’t wait for the NA servers to merge! Nexon did release a cross world bossing party feature in the MapleStory Korea test client though, so perhaps if Nexon like unifies the auction houses and implements cross world bossing that could help a little bit as well. Or maybe destroy a server’s economy. Either way it should be exciting. And the final point mentions that they are still looking into ways to introduce more mystical familiar cards and chains of resentment the spawn boosting totems to the game. The more the merrier of course, as the familiar grind is especially brutal.
Additionally the team is looking into balancing overseas classes, which I can only expect to be an absolute nightmare. And they are looking into the character switch feature, where you can switch between characters without having to go back to the character selection screen. But this is more challenging in GMS due to the way our login systems work. They will update us on more whenever they can in this regard.
The team is also working hard for the 20th anniversary update and event. More of which will be shared later in April. From the image shared it looks like it is going to be something class specific related. As there are 5 flags each representing one of the class branches, warriors, mages, thiefs, pirates and archers. I just hope it isn’t something too competitive between the class branches as there are way more warrior classes than archers for example haha. By the way the gifts can be claimed until the 11th of March so make haste! And that’s basically the entire notice! What do you think of the update so far? Nothing groundbreaking but its nice to hear from the team again, and I am curious about the 20th anniversary update! Can you believe it has been that long already?
