The State has labelled former National Assembly Speaker and Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s discharge application a fishing expedition.
Prosecutors argue that the application is an attempt to test the strength of their case before Mapisa-Nqakula is required to present her defence.
She faces 12 counts of corruption and one count of money laundering.
