Cody Rakes of Loretto Motherhouse Farms discusses ways to protect soil and water resources by utilizing stewardship practices on the farm. Managing stormwater around production areas helps reduce runoff water and prevent runoff of manure nutrients. Scraping and stockpiling manure helps them manage manure moisture content, conserve nutrient content, and streamline utilization of manure nutrients on the farm. Learn more about other stewardship practices at goodideafarm.org and by visiting your local Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service office.
