Manos Juntas is a nonprofit, free clinic in Oklahoma City. For more than 25-years, it has provided free medical care, medication, and health education to thousands of Oklahomans each year. Dr. Boyd Shook founded the clinic in 1995. Since then, his team has treated more than 25,000 individuals and saved Oklahoma tens of millions of dollars in healthcare costs. Manos Juntas treats an incredibly diverse patient populations and confronts the underlying healthcare disparities affecting them. Of course, patients aren’t the only beneficiaries of the work Manos Juntas does. Each week, a large team of students gets the hands-on experience they need to be culturally competent doctors, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare workers.
