"Paper Moon" is one of the most famous Greek songs, composed by Manos Hadjidakis and lyrics by the great poet Nikos Gatsos. It was written for the 1948 Greek adaptation of Tennessee Williams' theatrical play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by the prominent theater director Karolos Koun.
The melody is performed, for the very first time, on the ancient Greek lyre by the skilled player Theodore Koumartzis, with Andrie Evripidou, a Cypriot Blues singer, on the vocals.
Theodore performs on the LUTHIEROS Lyre of Orpheus (9 strings), masterfully handcrafted in Greece.

🎙️ Who is Andrie?
Andrie is a Cypriot singer who loves voice improvisation and freedom when she sings. She is particularly influenced by blues and jazz through which she has vocally experimented. She has collaborated with musicians from different backgrounds in Greece while now, when possible, she continues her experimentations with the musical team of the Reggetiko Project.

🎙️ Who is Theodore?
Theodore is the youngest brother of the Koumartzis family. Being part of the family's endeavor since its early stage, he soon came to be an inspiring top-notch lyre player, constantly learning and experimenting with musicians around the world.
He is the founder of the Pausis Project, a curator at the SEIKILO Museum of Ancient Music in Greece (Thessaloniki), and an integral part of LUTHIEROS Music Instruments.

⚪ Pausis - a secret form of communication
A parallel unobserved form of expression behind the obvious, the unseen point where all obvious forms of communication (dialogue, sounds, gestures, writing) communicate and become capable of expressing something higher than their sum.
Pausis is actually a necessary element for every kind of communication of verbal, artistic, stochastic music. With both philosophical and literal dimensions, friendship, love, time, life itself become ill at the moment when the internal dialogue ceases, and in the space that is created all becomes One.
